The IBJJF European Open 2012 ended today, seeing Master Lucio Lagarto earning the Bronze Medal in the Absolute Division & the Silver Medal in the Super-Heavyweight division.
Congratulations to him and to all the Team Lagarto for their great results in this major tournament.

2011, Review of the year; Part 3 : Lagarto's consecration..

 

 January 15th:

World Pro Cup Trials , Lisbon, Portugal:

At the end of a great fight vs Alan "Finfou" Do Nascimento , Lagarto won his 1st Gold Medal of the year 2011. Between January and April , Lucio will win 3 more Gold Medals & 2 Silver Medals in some of the most prestigious Gi tournament as , The European Open ( vs Rafael Lovato Jr.) or The Abu Dhabi World Pro Cup ( vs Marcus "Buchecha" Almeida), making of this period 1 of the most prolific of his career !

Despite this impressive record and the support of the crowd ( who even create a facebook page only dedicate to this),the US Embassy refused once again his Visa application , pulling him , because of this, out of the most important tournament of the year The Worlds Championship .

4 months.. In only 4 months Lucio bring back to London , 4 Gold Medals & 2 Silver Medals... Amazing start of the year for someone who was told that  he couldn't train or compete again..

4 months, 4 Gold Medals and 4 Words to describe him : Faith ; Determination ; Power and Talent..Back from the Hell and on his way to Heaven.. His futur opponents are warned, now, for Lagarto, only the sky is the limit...

"I remember when i was first looking around different academies to start training jiujitsu and i had troubles finding one that i liked. When i walked in Lagarto's Academy , he came up to me with a big smile and gave me a huge hug and made me feel very welcome! I immediatly knew this was the place i wanted to train .
